Shepherd Security Advisors was founded by a retired law enforcement officer and former United States Marine with over a decade of experience in criminal investigations, threat assessment, and public safety. During that career, our founder worked alongside schools, responded to campus incidents, and witnessed firsthand how small private schools faced serious security vulnerabilities year after year, without the resources, the expertise, or anyone in their corner to help them fix it.
That gap is why Shepherd Security Advisors exists. Private and faith-based K-12 schools are some of the most underserved institutions when it comes to campus safety. They don't have school district safety departments. They don't have dedicated security staff. And they often don't know where to start — until something goes wrong. Shepherd Security Advisors was built to change that.
“Every school deserves to know its vulnerabilities before someone else finds them first”
Using the CISA School Security Assessment Tool framework, Shepherd Security Advisors conducts thorough, four-layer campus assessments — evaluating every perimeter, entry point, building vulnerability, and emergency procedure. Every engagement produces a professional findings report with prioritized recommendations, cost estimates, and a clear path forward. For schools that qualify, Shepherd also provides federal grant documentation support through the FEMA Nonprofit Security Grant Program — because securing a school shouldn't have to mean breaking a budget.
The name Shepherd was chosen with purpose. A shepherd doesn't just watch, a shepherd protects, guides, and ensures no one in their care is left vulnerable. That is the standard we hold ourselves to for every school we serve. Because behind every classroom door is a child whose safety deserves more than a plan that hasn't been updated in three years.
